We always need volunteers, and yes... you can
Whether this is your child’s first or sixth year of playing with WCFA, we need you to step up and volunteer.
Volunteers make this team work. None of the board members, coaches, or parents reps receive compensation for the time and energy that is put into ensuring that your son or daughter has a team to play football on. We pay our children’s fees at the beginning of the year and shell out money for our kids to ride the bus to games, just like all the other parents. We don't need a pat on the back, but we do need your help to lighten the load for all of those involved.
Below are just some of the opportunities:
WATER FOR GAMES
48 bottles of water at the game bench 1 hour before the game.
ORANGES FOR GAMES
15 oranges cut into wedges and placed at the bench before the start of the game.
STICKS FOR HOME GAMES
Walk back and forth with the sticks as directed by the refs for home games. Be standing on the sidelines, ready with the sticks, 15 minutes before game time.
CLOCK FOR HOME GAMES
Control the clock as directed by the refs. Be standing on the sidelines, ready with the control, 15 minutes before game time.
PAINTING THE LINES
Making sure the lines are painted a couple of days before home games – we need a minimum of 3 people every time this is done.
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Make sure the above positions are filled for each game.
HELP ORGANIZE THE YEAR-END WRAP UP
Organize the year-end wrap-up (Coordination of the potluck, help set up and take down the tables/chairs as required, etc).
BECOME A BOARD MEMBER!!!
We always have spots opening up as maturing players leave, available positions will be discussed as they come up for renewal. Meetings are a couple of times a year; all other communication is via email discussion.
STEP ONTO THE FIELD
We need more people to assist coach during practices and games (please see your teams head coach if you are interested in this task).
Let me save you some time…Yes, you can; yes, you should; we are all ‘too busy,’ and none of us knew what we were doing when we first started volunteering!!
Speak to any board member to discuss how to sign up
